Why not rent a car ourselves?
Touring the massive Kluane area can be limited with unknowns and questions. We eliminate those unknowns with our guides who are full of local knowledge.

Will we see wildlife?
There is plenty of wilderness for our animals to roam. They are not all by the roadside. Depending on the time of day or the season there is the possible opportunity to see bears, moose, elk, feral horses, or smaller critters such as foxes. We slow down, enjoy the view with the animals, but then quickly move on so we respect the wildlife and practice responsible road safety.

Are we able to go for a hike?
We do get out of the van after to enjoy the always gorgeous views & scenery. There are several factors to consider: group size, the weather, what’s happening in the area and what we feel will be best suited in terms of activity level for the group. It’s nice we have options on this itinerary since we know the area so well and will make it enjoyable for everyone.

Do I need bug/bear spray?
No, we always carry those with us.

Will we see Mount Logan?
No, not from the highway – the park does not have road access through it. However we can arrange for some flights over Mt. Logan and the spectacular icefields at an additional cost.
*The flights are also weather and time permitting – please inquire with us.

What is Da ku?
This is the Champagne Aishihik Cultural Centre which is also home to the Yukon Government’s Visitor Centre and Parks Canada Information Centre.
We will stop here as part of our tour day. Please note sometimes certain areas of the building are not open depending on the season.

How many people live in Haines Junction?
There are approximately 950 people living here.

How long of a drive is it?
It takes a bit to get to Kluane – sit back and enjoy your guide’s stories and when you get there, the mountain views are worth the wait.
It is 174kms one way to Haines Junction – we’ll be going beyond that to enjoy further scenic areas and can cover up to another 40-80kms. We want to showcase as much as we can in the tour. Round-trip it’s approximately 375-450kms mostly on the historic Alaska Highway heading into western Yukon.

Why is it called Haines Junction?
Haines Junction is the junction point of the Alaska Highway and the Haines Highway down to Haines, AK.

Which First Nation’s traditional territory is this that we’ll be visiting?
This is the Southern Tutchone territory – the area has been used for hunting & fishing camps for thousands of years. Involvement from the Coastal Tlingit, Champagne and Aishihik First Nations groups are also prominent.

  • Are you planning to hike in Kluane?
  • Do you need to get to a specific trail head or trail end location (i.e. Kathleen Lake)?

We offer shuttle services without the tour to get you or your group out there, or back, safely and quickly.
We provide local knowledge, tips and advise.
We will stop at Parks Canada to ensure you are prepared with the necessary paperwork and safety checks.
